An Open letter to Senator Larry Craig,

as sent via e-mail Friday, September 7, 2007

Senator Craig, I sent a suggestion into you back in December, calling for a feasibility study over transforming the land where Friedman Airport in Hailey, Idaho stands, into a ‘Trauma-Stren Transformation Clinic’, for our War Veterans, once the airport relocates.

I did receive an immediate auto-reply from your office; but had wondered if by now, you have made time to read my suggestion. In the last 2 & 1/2 years, I spent much of my free time contacting concerned parties, here in the Wood River Valley, at the Pentagon, in Veteran's chat-rooms and other pertinent places.

I even revised the suggestion, adding a few improvements. My hope is that you will embrace this passionate issue, as so many others have in the past few months.

Here is a link to my improved suggestion, as recently published in the Wood River Journal newspaper:

Best regards,

Thank you for sending me an electronic message, a copy of which is provided below. This automated response is to let you know that your message was sent. Please do not reply to this confirmation because it was sent from a separate email account that does not accept incoming messages. Visit my website at http://craig.senate.gov/email/ if you would like to send another message.

As one of Idaho's United States Senators, my first responsibility is to represent and address the concerns of Idahoans. I appreciate the time you have taken to contact me and will respond to your message as quickly as possible. Please understand that sometimes additional research is required to address your concerns and a response to your message may take a little longer. When the Senate is debating controversial issues, I see an increase in mail volume which also delays my ability to respond rapidly.

If your message requested my assistance in dealing with a federal agency, you may want to save time by contacting one of my offices directly. The addresses and telephone numbers of each of my offices are provided on my website.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

    Sincerely,
    Larry E. Craig
    United States Senator

Maybe in the near future (ex) Senator Craig will have plenty of time to address this important issue; that is, if he has time in between his frequent visits to public restrooms for tappy-tap-tap sessions.

Too bad about Senator Larry Craig, not responding at least to your thought and effort at something you would think as a Republican, he would claim to be a priority. He should be reaching his hand out to those who have already served our country, rather than to the man in the next stall !!!
